We're all familiar with the story of the Titanic: At 11:39 p.m. on April 14, 1912, a young lookout named Frederick Fleet spotted an iceberg. His ship was headed straight for it. The Titanic made impact, and two hours and 40 minutes later, the boat was lost to the ocean forever. 2,224 people were on board. Only 700 survived. It's a tragedy that has stuck in our minds more than a century, but we're likely unfamiliar with the real faces of the people who survived it. In the images below, we see what the immediate aftermath of the tragedy looked like, from New York all the way to the UK.
