Correctly cutting your Rubber-Cal rubber roll flooring will ensure you have a smooth level surface. Cutting rubber flooring is easy enough to do yourself, but will require care and a steady hand. First, make sure you have all the necessary tools to complete the job properly. You'll need to have access to the following items; gloves, knee pads, utility knife with extra blades, a T-square and a piece of chalk. Once you have all the required tools you are ready to begin cutting your recycled rubber mat. Black rubber flooring is tough and resilient. It will require a generous amount of pressure and may take a few tries to cut through the material using your utility knife. This process is called "scoring" and it will allow you to effectively cut the recycled rubber mat to the correct size and length. When cutting your sustainable flooring material you may have to make cuts beyond a simple straight cut. Because all rooms are different you may have to make more angular cuts, this is where the t-square and chalk come into play. Use these two handy tools to clearly mark the path of the knife. This should make any cutting job much easier. For more information on how to cut rubber flooring, please refer to the Rubber-Cal installation guide for further instructions or visit www.rubbercal.com.
