During my stay May 14-15, 2018 at AC HOTEL SOM Barcelona I came across an unexpected situation which is a rare and unusual thing to happen in a hotel by Marriott. In this case, my video speaks louder then any words could describe. While I was still asleep in my hotel room 812 what appeared like water came pouring down from the 9th floor flooding the 8th floor all the way down to the hotel lobby. 7 AM no alarm went off nor did I receive a phone call or a knock on my door. My calls to the front desk were unanswered. I was left to my own devices. My room was submerged in water and not knowing if the water was electrically charged I had to make a life and death decision and stepped into it to escape my room. Wet and barefoot I grabbed what I could and made it down 8 floors on a cold metal staircase into the lobby area. No general manager on site but front desk manager Olivia Clanché was. She was very apologetic and did her best in handling this unusual situation. Since I prepaid for this stay a city tax of 99 cents was due upon check out which I had to pay in order to evacuate the hotel.
