Sara Novakovic Teen polyglot speaks 6 languages : English / French ( francais ) / Spanish ( español ) / Italian ( italiano) / Portuguese ( português)/ Serbian ( srpski) - INSTAGRAM @novakovsara Please read :) I want to make myself clear on some points and say things that I didn’t mention :  When I cite ‘’the baby example ‘’, at the end of the video ‘’ : A baby never learns by heart : I am / You are /She is /We are /they Are’’. Don’t get me wrong ! You have to learn verbs by heart when you start to learn a language. That’s the regular procedure. Of course !..but after.. when you start to speak the language : comprehension is essential. I said it that way because i can see a lot of people learning grammar,verbs,tenses and after using them without knowing WHY is this specific tense or word used (for example) FLUENCY is reached with COMPREHENSION. To put it simply, every language is different. For example, French and Spanish are two latin languages but they are not the same. Every single time , when i’m improving my languages, i am trying to understand the language and its specifics. Every polyglot friend that I have..is doing the same thing. It’s just a matter of practice and LOVE. Yes, love. Every person is different : someone will understand it with listening , someone will manage his/her skills with talking and someone will study hard in order to understand. As I said, nothing is given for granted. Behind every great talent : there is HARDWORK and hard work can surpass talent. Trust me. ( I’m sure that you’ve already heard that !) :) Therefore, to reach fluency : talk / listen/ read. Find your own way.. I mean you can learn a language with movies. I know a bunch of people that learned English with tv shows. I am one of them. :) You can’t reach fluency without work. Watching series, listening the radio, reading foreign articles. – your interests can lead you to accomplishment. Why don’t you read an article in another language ? :) And yes , as i said in the video : it’s essential to make mistakes. Don’t be ASHAMED. I was ashamed in school because i had some friends in my class that were perfectionists. I would rather say nothing than make mistakes in front of them. I guess I was so immature. If you worry constantly about your mistakes and if you only want to reach a certain ‘’language-perfection’’, if I can say so , YOU WILL MAKE EVEN MORE MISTAKES. That’s what I learned. Don’t be ashamed of your accent or anything... Just speak. Also , I can hear a lot of people saying : ‘’ Yes ,but I don’t have a private teacher’ ,‘’ If my parents had enough money to pay languages courses, I would’ve learned 10 languages ‘’ my language level in school is not high’ ‘ my teachers aren’t good’ ‘ etc.. I have friends from different social groups , and trust me, a lot of them didn’t have any of those things. . AND THEY ARE BILINGUAL.  My favorite quote is : ‘‘ Every accomplishment starts with the decision to TRY‘’ – this quote doesn’t say : ‘’every accomplishment starts with wealthy parents or great highschool ’’ When I say that ,my purpose is not to sound wise. That’s just true !  It’s never a matter of money. A friend ,from my neighbourhood, wasn’t rich. His parents were social workers. He studied hard , applied for a local Belgrade College..Asked for scolarship. Got it. 4 years later ,He asked for scolarship abroad. He went to the States.. Did his master and now works for a great company and earns a lot of money. I NEVER said that learning a language was or will be easy. I will never say it. Nothing in life is easy but some improvements can be made with WORK. ( I’m sure that everyone knows that ) :) My friends always told me that I should make this video and share my story. And here it is, i’ve made it. :) There are mistakes but that was my intention : I wanted to be natural and to improvize. Also , i really wanted to see myself , my faces reaction and have fun with improvisation ..to be honest, i love to laugh about myself once in a while. ( Even though, when I speak french, I’m completely serious about the bullies ) - PS : if anyone from my old school reads this, please know that i felt it that way. Maybe it wasn’t your intention.
