A large section of the Angel glacier at Mt. Edith Cavell fell off while we were there. The first fall was not captured on the video, but the second collapse conveniently occurred while filming. Based on Google Earth elevation information I suspect the glacier probably fell about 350 to 400 meters from it's perch atop to the ground below. Not visible in the video is a secondary fall from the location of the former Ghost glacier. We think the loud noise may have disturbed the area and caused the secondary collapse. We noticed that just moments prior to the event, two people were standing at the base of the waterfall. This is a good example of why people shouldn't venture so close to the foot of the glacier.
