This video shows the repair of a PS4 BD-ROM Drive logic daughterboard which was having issues when launching games. The I/O ribbon clamp was also broken meaning we needed to swap out the faulty drive board for a replacement part - the only issue here is that they are per-box components and cannot be swapped - doing so will cause a CE-35888-2 error preventing any disc-based game from launching correctly. Here we move the per-box component, the Renesas SCEI IC R8J32841FP1, across from the old board to the new one to restore functionality of the BD-ROM logic board and re-pair the new board with our existing machine.
