Customer initially said he broke 2 pads from under the efi chip and knocked off a components while attempting to replace the EFI chip. When the iMac arrived, the board was a huge mess. Solder blobs everywhere, missing component, damaged component and damaged power supply connector. We restored the pads by running wires on the board. We replaced the missing resistor and cleared any visible shorts. When we tried to power on the iMac, We faced a huge unexpected power supply spark. We did not continue the repair. The problem at this point in the power supply, motherboard or both. Since there are no schematic diagrams available for this machine, it doesn't make sense to spent more time troubleshooting.
