Bashing is the word on today's video from Harnetty Railways. During the 1st day of The East Lancashire Railway's West Country Theme weekend. The star attraction of the bank holiday weekend was Jeremy Hosking's ex rebuilt West Country bulleid pacific 34046 Braunton making her return to the railway for the 1st time since the summer of 2013 following repairs & modifications at Ian Riley's at the time. I got my 1st ever ride behind 34046 Braunton an opportunity not to be missed of a loco I hardly see on the mainline. We have a close look round the loco before boarding her train which worked the 1st train of the day the 9.15am deparuture from Bury to Rawtenstall. A very gd run behind 34046 including the restart from Ramsbottom. We end this video travelling behind Braunton on the last run of the day from Heywood which by this time a newly repainted parcel van was attached to the train & remained on 34046's train throughout the weekend visit of the loco. The highlight was the restart after a signal check just before the 1 in 46 climb of the ski jump going over the metrolink network before finally arriving into Bury Bolton Street which is were we end this video.
